The sacroiliac joints are located in your back where the lumbosacral spine joins your pelvis. The left and right joints are surrounded by a tight joint capsule-shaped in the form of a finger joint. With injury to the joint, patients typically will complain of low back pain and upper buttock pain worsened with sitting. There is pain upon palpation of the upper buttock region.
