Botox Injections

Botox injections are toxin produced using bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It is primarily used as a cosmetic injection, but it has other benefits as well. The toxin can cause a form of muscle paralysis that stops transmission of pain signals. In migraine headaches, botox will block the chemicals called neurotransmitters that carry pain signals from your brain, thereby relieving your headaches.

What is the usage of Botox Injection?

The most popular usage of Botox is the removal of temporary wrinkles from your face. However, it treats many serious conditions, such as:

  • Cervical dystonia: If our neck muscles contract involuntarily, it causes our head to twist in an unnatural position, causing a lot of pain.
  • Muscle Contractures: In some neurological conditions, our limbs are pulled in uncomfortable positions. Botox injections can be used to relax these contracted muscles.
  • Hyperhidrosis: When you are sweating excessively, even when the temperature isn’t high, Botox helps relax your sweating glands.
  • Chronic migraine: If you suffer from regular migraines, then Botox injections can reduce your headache frequency.
